How Bitstamp canceled my account
You probably know Bitstamp as a pretty reliable Bitcoin exchange. However I end up with this email from them after I tried to deposit EUR through SEPA:
Dear Pavol,
After careful consideration, Bitstamp decided to terminate Your access to Your Account in accordance with our Terms of Use. Your account will be terminated from the date of this notice having been received by you. This notice shall be treated as having been served upon completion of the transmission of this email.
The decision to terminate your Account has been reached following a close examination of your recent account activity and information which you have provided. It is our view that any continuation of our relationship would not be appropriate at this time due to internal policies.
Your account balance and recent deposit will be returned to the bank account of origin, costs withheld.
BTC and LTC will be transferred only after conversion into a currency using our spot exchange rate, costs withheld.
For more information, see our Terms of Use: https://www.bitstamp.net/terms-of-use/
Best regards,
Bitstamp Team
So I asked, what was a reason to terminate my account. Canceled access to account is very unprofessional. You just end up with no proof of actual balance and no transaction history.
I got this reply:
Dear Pavol,
thank you for reaching out.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide any further information on the reasons leading to the termination of your account due to our internal policies.
So thank you Bitstamp. After scanned passport, bills, 15 annoying questions of personal matter and not small manipulation fees (NON-STANDARD PROCESSING 0.25% minimum fee = EUR 25.00) to return my money on my bank account. They went sure, they will return it in two payments to charge more.
I am finally free of your KYC ALM bullying and your “no hidden fees”.
So I went to kraken.com and happy to buying cryptos there.
But what I am really looking forward are decenstralised exchanges with reputation system.
